Our mission: making healthy, eco-responsible food accessible to everyone.

Do you only sell bulk products?

Not at all! We sell everything: fresh foods, fruits and vegetables, household products, cosmetic items and more. Most are available in bulk, but our mission is also to support local and eco-responsible companies. You'll also find packaged products from brands we've carefully selected.

Buying in bulk

How does bulk grocery shopping work?

It's simple! You choose the amount you want, put it in a bag or container, and pay by weight. No need to buy a full package if you only need a small amount. It's practical, economical and reduces food waste.

Do I need to bring my own containers?

It's not required! We provide paper bags and reusable containers on site. But if you have your own Mason jars, reusable bags or containers, that's even better for the planet. Our team will weigh them at checkout to deduct the container weight (the tare).

How do I know which product is in which bin?

Each bin is clearly labeled with the product name, price per weight and relevant information (allergens, origin, etc.). If in doubt, ask a team member, we're always here to help.

Is bulk cheaper than packaged?

Generally, yes! You pay for the product without paying for packaging, marketing and distribution. Plus, you only buy the amount you need, which reduces food waste and financial losses. It's also a great way to try a new product without committing to a large quantity.

How do I store bulk products at home?

Most dry products (flours, cereals, nuts, spices, legumes) keep very well in airtight containers, away from light and moisture. Mason jars are perfect for this. For nuts and nut flours, the refrigerator or freezer extends their freshness. If in doubt, ask our team, that's what we're here for!

How long do bulk products last?

It depends on the product. Spices and dried herbs keep for about 6 to 12 months. Cereals, pasta and dried legumes, easily 6 months or more. Nuts and seeds, about 3 to 6 months at room temperature (longer in the fridge or freezer). Flours, about 3 to 6 months. If you buy small quantities and renew them regularly, freshness is always guaranteed.

Are bulk products hygienic?

Absolutely. Our bins are cleaned and refilled regularly following strict hygiene procedures. Product turnover is fast, which ensures freshness. We follow rigorous handling, cleaning and traceability protocols.

Can I order bulk products online?

Most bulk products are available online. To simplify your shopping and avoid excessive shipping costs, we offer specific formats that you can add to your cart.

Organic & local

What's the difference between organic and natural?

An organic product is certified by a recognized body (such as Ecocert or Québec Vrai). It is grown without synthetic pesticides, without GMOs and without chemical fertilizers. A "natural" product has no legally defined meaning. It may simply mean that it contains ingredients of natural origin, but without the same guarantees as organic certification.

Are all your products organic?

A large portion of our products are certified organic, but not all. We also select local, artisanal and eco-responsible products that may not hold organic certification but meet our quality criteria. Organic certification is always clearly indicated on the labels.

Why does organic sometimes cost more?

Organic farming requires more labor, longer crop rotations and more expensive production methods. The certification itself has a cost. But by buying in bulk with us, you reduce the price gap because you're not paying for packaging, marketing or intermediaries.

What does "local" mean at Santé en Vrac?

For us, local primarily means producers and processors from Quebec, with a preference for the Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec regions. We always prioritize the closest suppliers possible, both for freshness and to support our local economy.

Are all your fruits and vegetables organic?

We offer a mix of organic and conventional fruits and vegetables, always prioritizing local and quality. Certified organic products are clearly identified. We also work with local producers who use responsible practices even without official certification.

Do you have gluten-free, nut-free or other allergy-friendly products?

We carry several gluten-free, nut-free and allergy-friendly products. However, since we are a bulk grocery store that handles many allergens, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of traces. Please consult our priority allergens policy page for more details.

What's a first visit like?

We welcome you like we'd welcome a friend! Let us know it's your first visit and a team member will give you a quick tour of the store. We'll explain how bulk works, where to find the different sections and how to weigh your products. No pressure, take your time.

Do you accept credit and debit cards?

Yes, we accept debit, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and cash. Bonus: with our EcoPoints Prestige program, you earn 2 points per dollar when paying by debit or cash, and 1 point per dollar by credit card.

Can I have my containers weighed at checkout?

Of course! Bring your containers and we'll weigh them at checkout to deduct the weight (the tare) from your total. No need to do it before filling them.

Do you offer naturopathy consultations?

The owner, Audrey Hébert-Auger, is a naturopath. Consultations and services are offered through Académie LNI and La naturo imparfaite. Feel free to contact us for more information.

Online store

How do I find a product online?

Click on the magnifying glass at the top of the page. A search field will appear. Use keywords related to the product or its benefits. For example, you can search "lavender" as well as "migraine" to find related products. Click the magnifying glass again once your keywords are entered.

How do categories work?

The online store is divided into categories for easy navigation. By clicking on a category, you browse a specific section. You can then refine your search by choosing a subcategory.

How do I find products from a specific brand?

Enter the brand name in the search field. If you're not sure of the name, browse the categories (for example "Detergent") and scroll through the products. Below the product image, you'll find the brand name and can click on it to see all their products.
