Abyssinian oil is one of those hidden-gem plant oils that surprises you from the very first use. Cold-pressed from the seeds of Crambe abyssinica and sourced from Canada, it stands out for its silky, lightweight feel and elegant non-greasy finish.
If you are looking for an oil that nourishes the skin without feeling heavy, leaves a soft satin finish, and helps improve the look and feel of the hair at the same time, this one is worth discovering. It is especially appreciated by combination or oily-prone skin, anyone who dislikes rich greasy textures, and dry, dull, frizzy or hard-to-manage hair.
What makes it so distinctive is its naturally high content of erucic acid, a very long-chain fatty acid that gives this oil its unique sensory profile, often compared to a plant-based silicone effect. It glides beautifully over the skin and hair, helps lock in moisture, improves softness and leaves a smooth velvety finish.
In facial care, it helps soften the skin, support the skin barrier and maintain moisture without leaving a heavy residue. It can also enhance serums, creams and oil cleansers thanks to its excellent affinity with the skin.
In hair care, it brings softness, shine and manageability. It helps smooth the hair fiber, reduce static, improve detangling and make hair easier to style, especially when hair is dry, brittle, curly or textured.
This is a refined, versatile and modern botanical oil, perfect for anyone looking for an effective and sensory care ingredient that is easy to use every day.

Ingredients
INCI: Crambe abyssinica oil
How to use
For skin
Apply a few drops to clean skin, ideally slightly damp if desired, and massage gently until absorbed. It can be used on its own on normal skin that tolerates it well, or blended into a serum or cream. In cosmetic formulations, it is commonly used at 5 to 30%.
In a facial routine
It works especially well as the final step of a skincare routine, after hydrating products, to help seal in moisture and leave the skin soft and comfortable.
For hair
Warm a very small amount between your hands, then apply to lengths and ends on damp or dry hair. Start with only a little, especially on fine hair. It can also be added to DIY masks, serums or hair treatments.
How often
Use daily or a few times a week depending on your skin or hair needs and the result you want.
What to avoid
Avoid contact with eyes. Patch test before first use if you have very reactive skin. For cosmetic use only, not edible.

Audrey’s tip, also known as La naturo imparfaite
When an oil feels too heavy on the face, it is often a matter of quantity, not the oil itself. With Abyssinian oil, start very small, 2 or 3 drops are often more than enough.
