Nilgiri Bai Mu Dan is an exceptional Indian white tea grown in the Nilgiri mountains of India. Made from beautiful large leaves with soft yellow and pale green tones, it is as beautiful to look at as it is enjoyable to drink.

Its silky liquor reveals fresh herbal, floral and fruity aromas, ending with a lightly zesty finish that feels refreshing and thirst-quenching. With only about 29 mg of caffeine per cup, it is an excellent choice for those looking for a gentler tea experience without the intensity of black tea or coffee.

This tea also stands out for its inspiring story. Produced at Tea Studio in the Nilgiri mountains, it is the result of a collaboration between tea experts and a fully women-led local team. Grown at 1550 meters altitude by producer Ms. Muskan Khanna, it reflects craftsmanship, innovation and strong human values.

How to use

Teapot preparation

Use 2 tsp per 250 ml of water at 75 °C.
Steep for approximately 2 to 4 minutes depending on desired strength.

Gaiwan preparation

Use 3 tsp per 150 ml of water at 75 °C.

  • Infusion 1: 30 to 45 seconds
  • Infusion 2: 20 to 35 seconds
  • Infusion 3 and beyond: gradually increase steeping time

Enjoy hot or slightly cooled during warmer months. Avoid overly hot water, as it may overpower its delicate flavours.

Audrey’s tip, naturopath, also known as La naturo imparfaite

White teas are often underestimated. If you want to ease into tea with something smooth, delicate and never bitter, this one is a beautiful place to start.
